Rumours of a Mean Girls: The Musical have been circulating for a while now, but it wasn’t until Tina Fey spoke at a press conference that the news was finally confirmed. Squeal.
Tina revealed the good news while speaking at a press conference for her new film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, in which she plays a journalist who takes up a dangerous assignment in Afghanistan.
“My husband, [composer] Jeff Richmond and I, [along with lyricist] Nell Benjamin, have been working on it,” Tina said. When she was pushed for more information, Tina confirmed – “Yes, yes, it’s happening!”
Don’t expect a 2016 release date, though, as Tina reportedly said it’s still “years away”.
We’ll wait as long as it takes! But who’ll be cast as The Plastics?
