After years of hard work, dedication and juggling her personal and public life, Nomzamo Mbatha graduated yesterday with a BCom Accounting degree at the University of Cape Town. Nomzamo opened her heart even further by offering free glam to all graduates on the day. The penthouse suite at the Pepperclub Hotel was filled with excited graduates and bubbly on tap. She shared the experience on her social media. But there was one thing we couldn’t keep our eyes off, the dress! She hinted a few days ago about how close it was to her heart but now we can see why.
My graduation dress is so close to my heart.
She opened up to GLAMOUR about the dress and that it wasn’t just any boring design. She designed the dress and bespoke dressmaker Vanessa Gounden made the dream come alive. She said that this one was very close to her heart. She told us that faces on the dress were of near and dear people to her heart. Including family members that had passed on.
When she revealed the dress to her family who attended the graduation they couldn’t hold back their tears and to be honest neither could we.

Our gorgeous April cover star and TV personality went on to share footage from the graduation ceremony on Twitter. Attendees posted videos of her walking across the stage, receiving her qualification and raising her fist in the air in tribute to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
