The South African artist shared the exciting news on Instagram over the weekend.
Love is in the air hitmaker Toya Delazy who is now based in London, UK, recently dropped her Afrorave Vol 1 album, the official music video for her track Resurrection and just yesterday, the big news of her engagement.
The musician shared the news of her engagement to Ally Sdi on Instagram saying, “I gotta share my joy as we celebrating our Tin Aluminum Anniversary with my babe 🌹 a DECADE of love, I thank the universe for blessing me with you - always yours @alissonchaig we officially officially officially #engayed,” in the caption.
The South African artist popular for her AfroRave sound rose to fame after releasing Love is in the air in 2012 and has been nominated in the Best International Act category at the 2013 BET Awards and took home two awards at the 2013 SAMAs, including Newcomer of the Year for her debut studio album Due Drop.
Delazy’s Afrorave Vol 1 album was recorded in isiZulu and features Young Mbazo, a local band that’s made up of sons and grandsons of the Grammy award-winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Speaking to IOL about her track Resurrection, Delazy explained that the song is about rebirth and reclaiming who we are as African people in the global society.
“Resurrection is about redesigning yourself. You have to die to your old self and embrace your truth, to die, you have to let go of the ego and only then you will taste the sweet waters of resurrection. Life is all about the power of transformation,” says Delazy.
