Lately, there’s been a slew of local celebrities and media darlings who’ve announced their pregnancies in the most glamorous ways.
It seems full blown productions and high-budget photoshoots are now just part-and-parcel of the celeb pregnancy journey - giving fans a first glimpse into their luxurious mom-to-be experiences.
Next on the agenda are lavish baby showers, and of course, fans and followers get an inside look at the decorative celebrations as pics are shared to the ‘gram.
This past weekend, fashion model Blue Mbombo held a stunning ‘Royal Duchess’ themed shower in honour of her baby girl. Held at the Riboville Boutique Hotel, the event was an elegant outdoor affair. The pink, gold, and white colour scheme was brought to life with a lavish table setting complete with an abundance of floral displays, chandeliers, and a vintage baby stroller.
The gorgeous mom-to-be was glowing in a pink tulle number by designer Scalo Medupe. She paired the look with a coiffed up-do and sparkly drop earrings.
Fellow pregnant star Ayanda Thabethe was also in attendance. Ayanda announced her pregnancy back in January with an ethereal video as she poses on sand dunes wearing a flowy white gown.
Earlier this month, the model, actress and television presenter celebrated a baby shower of her own. The breakfast at Tiffany’s themed shower, titled, ‘Ayanda & Co’ was an opulent blue and white celebration. Aayanda wore a custom blue, ruffled, feathered and beaded gown by Laart Neviole Emporium. In a clip of the celebration posted on Instagram, Ayanda can be seen pulling up in a Rolls Royce as guests applaud her wearing all-white ensembles.
Ayanda shared an influx of pictures to Instagram, including an up-close look of her Tiffany-blue coloured cake, the table setting, DJ booth and ‘Mom Mosa’ bar cart.
Late last year, new mom K Naomi also celebrated a baby shower for her baby girl. The influencer and media personality, who tied the knot to husband Tshepo Phakathi this past weekend, was surprised with a baby bear themed shower. The party was an intimate at-home garden affair featuring a giant teddy bear, building blocks, and a largescale balloon display. We love the rustic table setting and K Naomi’s gorgeous red gown.
No doubt as the due dates draw closer, there’ll be plenty more celebrity baby showers to come.
