At the ribbon cutting in which the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s costume was renamed after Vogue editor Anna Wintour, US first lady Michelle Obama looked flawlessy fashionable herself in a green floral Naeem Khan dress. Ahead of the evening’s Met Gala ( see all of the celeb pics here!), Obama spoke highly of Wintour’s work, saying, “I’m so impressed by Anna’s contributions not just to fashion but to this great museum. This centre is for anyone who cares about fashion and how it impacts our culture and history.”
Not only did the first lady have lots to say about Anna Wintour’s contribution to fashion, she also offered some wise advice for us all to keep in mind when assembling an outfit: “In the end, someone will always not like what you wear,” she said. “People just have different tastes.” Michelle Obama has appeared on two Vogue covers and is often praised for her sense of style.
In another Anna-on-Instagram moment, Kim Kardashian recently shared a picture of herself and baby North West lunching with the esteemed editor on the day it became official that Kim and Kanye West would appear on the cover of Vogue.
