Remember a couple of weeks ago when it seemed that the most unexpected member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Kendall, was being shady about Sofia Richie and Scott Disick?
After a fan account for Scott posted a photo of him with Sofia Richie and his kids (he has three children with Kourtney Kardashian) Kendall commented on the post saying: “Awww Scott and his kids.”

It seems, however, that she isn’t the only one who isn’t keen on their pairing. In true dad style, Lionel Richie hasn’t exactly been planning his father of the bride speech, instead, he’s dubbed it “a phase”.Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, he said,
“She’s 19. When you’re 19 you know everything. Is it going to be for life? I don’t know. But for right now it’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise.”
He also said their relationship was a form of revenge for one of his stunts when he was younger.
“I know what my parents meant when I came through the door with my Afro and my girlfriend and said ‘Dad, I’m in love’ and [he] looked at me and said ‘Okay, we’re going to leave you alone for a minute and you’ll figure it out. My daughter is getting me back for my Afro days!”
It wasn’t all protective dad comments though, he does actually seem to like Scott.
“From what I met of him he’s a very nice guy. When you hang around the reality world, who knows what you are really doing? This is a well-oiled machine, the Kardashian machine. I don’t really know what to think. I told Sofia I will have no opinion. I’ll continue to be my cheerful self and move on.

The unlikely couple has been going from strength to strength since first being spotted in Cannes. They are super present on each other’s social media accounts, and constantly being spotted by the paps on date nights or romantic strolls in LA – but this was the first time Scott and Sofia were pictured with his kids. The encounter took place in Malibu, the family and Sofia went for sushi at Nobu – you can see the pics here.
A source told People the couple are “very serious” and Sofia is a positive influence on Scott. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has had a highly-publicised battle with alcohol abuse.
“She’s been great for him,” the source said. “She’s made a big impact on his life and hasn’t partied at all since they met. His friends adore her and nobody notices the age difference. She is very mature, she grew up in Hollywood and has always been in older situations. They seem really happy.”
Scott is almost 16 years older than Sofia and shares three children with his ex Kourtney Kardashian. In May Sofia denied any romance, tweeting they were “just homies” so things have obviously developed quite a bit since then…
