On Tuesday R&B star Usher announced the release of his new single ‘Boyfriend’ with teaser clips of the music video on social media.
The video stars actress Keke Palmer, where she can be seen giving the camera a sultry look as she sits in front of a vanity, sipping champagne in a hotel room, and strutting with a group of girls down the hotel hall.
It also offers a glimpse of the ‘OMG’ singer as he’s getting ready backstage before a brief snippet of the song plays.
The video comes weeks after drama unfolded with Keke and her boyfriend Darius Jackson, after she posted clips of her dancing at an Usher concert while wearing a sheer dress.
“It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” Darius said in an a quote Tweet of the Nickelodeon star dancing with ‘Love In This Club’, hitmaker.
After fans responded negatively to the fitness instructor’s comment, he posted a follow-up tweet that has since been deleted:
“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
Usher addresses the drama in his new track, singing: “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s looking for me/Oh that’s cool.”
In a previous interview, Usher said the incident was just a fun “pop moment” and something that was “worth talking about.”
We couldn’t agree more and definitely hope to see more light-hearted flirtation from this good-looking pair.
