Actress Sabrina Dhowre Elba tested positive for coronavirus after refusing to leave her husband Idris Alba who revealed last week to have contracted the COVID-19 virus.

Dhowre Elba shared her diagnosis with Oprah Winfrey during a facetime on Winfrey’s “Oprah Talks COVID-19” apple TV+ series, reported CNN.

Dhowre Elba was joined on the call by her husband as the two remained on quarantine together.

The American actors last week were heavily criticised for refusing self-isolation after Idris revealed to have contracted the virus.

Sabrina Elba told Winfrey that it was her choice to stay with her husband, though medical experts have advised that those who test positive for coronavirus isolate away from others to slow the spread.

“I could have made the decision to put myself maybe in a separate room or stay away, and I’m sure that people are making those decisions. And they’re tough decisions to make,” Sabrina Elba said. “But I made the decision to want to be with him, and you know, still touch him.”
