Gabrielle Union is set to open a shoe shop.
The 43-year-old Bring It On actress and her friend Faith Rein Haslem are planning to launch their own women’s footwear store with a “fashion angle”, which they are planning to name Borrowed From the Boys.
Speaking about their upcoming venture to The Coveteur, Faith said: “Gabrielle Union and I are working on a women’s shoe store.
“It’s in the very early works, but we’re definitely taking steps in planning. Baby steps, but that’s definitely the goal.
“It’s going to be a concept store/women’s sneaker store, but with a fashion angle.”
However, the duo has admitted they don’t intend for their shoe collection to copy existing footwear brands like Air Jordan trainers, and instead, they plan to make their own mark on the fashion industry with their unique range.
Faith explained: “It’s not necessarily about having Jordans per se, it’s going to be more the fashion-y thing. I think nice sneakers are a mainstay at this point.
“Our goal is to have a nice selection. Miami is ready for that, I think … I don’t know when this is going to happen, but I’ll keep you updated.”
Gabrielle and Faith have yet to confirm the details of when the store will open.
And it seems Gabrielle is more than a fan of footwear and has revealed her and husband Dwyane Wade have a “shoe vault” in their Miami home.
Speaking previously about her wardrobe essential, she said: “He [Dwyane] built a shoe vault. It could have been our guest room, but it’s a shoe vault.
“And then he’s also taken over every closet in every other guest room, so the closet in our actual bedroom is technically the same. But that’s not including the other five closet takeovers and the shoe vault.”
