Celine Dion’s brother’s memorial service will take place the day after her husband’s funeral.
Daniel Dion – who died of cancer on Saturday (16.01.16) – will be celebrated at the Salon Charles Rajotte in Repentigny, Quebec on January 23 from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm, a day after René Angélil’s memorial service takes place at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal.
A funeral service for Daniel will also take place several days later, at St-Simon-et-Jude Church in Charlemagne, where he was raised.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed the late music manager planned his own funeral to ease the burden on his famous wife.
Celine’s friend and stylist, Annie Horth, told People: “René was generous enough to prepare all of this since the last few months with Céline.
“He didn’t know when it would happen, but he really wanted everything to be already prepared.”
The service will take place at the same venue where the couple – who have 14-year-old son, René-Charles, and five-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson together – married 21 years ago.
A source said: “The whole funeral, that was all René’s wishes.
“He obviously wanted to have his funeral where he married the love of his life.”
René – three grown up children from a previous relationship, Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre – had been battling throat cancer since 2013 and his family have encouraged donations to be made to a cancer charity.
