The premise of Blake Lively’s new film All I See Is You is gloriously dramatic: Blake plays a blind woman who’s dependent on her husband for pretty much everything — until she regains her sight. Once she starts seeing things (literally) for the first time, she wants to explore the eccentricities of life, which doesn’t sit well with her husband. Chaos ensues. It’s like Fatal Attraction meets Obsessed with a little bit of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? thrown in.
If that’s not enough to hook you, though, maybe this is: Blake sings in the film. Like, actually sings — and she sounds really good. The former Gossip Girl star channels her inner Lana Del Rey for a slow-burning, acoustic ballad that totally compliments the moody vibe of the movie. The tune has shades of Jennifer Lawrence’s song ‘The hanging tree,’ which was used in the last Hunger Games film. Listen here:

While promoting All I See Is You, Blake said that she “can’t sing at all,” but we beg to differ. She sounds really lovely here. Her tone is warm and full, like a coffee-house crooner singing a love song to a packed house. Every singer-songwriter from the early 2000s is shaking in their boots right now.
Blake fans know this isn’t her first time getting musical for a role. She lip-synched ‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’ in an episode of Gossip Girl, and she was also in show choir as a teenager.
So how do we get the ball rolling on a dance remix of this All I See Is You song? The clubs need it.
