Last week, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather arrived in South Africa as part of his “Motherland Tour.
In true Mayweather fashion, the 15-time world champion was greeted by Zulu dancers and much fan fare when he touched down in Johannesburg.
He was seen shopping at Markham’s and browsing Sandton City Mall before hosting a star-studded Banquet Dinner at the Sandton Convention Centre on Saturday, 15 July.
The event was aimed at raising funds for South African youth in boxing in collaboration with his youth empowerment programme, The Floyd Mayweather Jr Foundation.
Tickets for the dinner cost between R2 500 – R45 000 per seat.
Themed “Go Black or Don’t Bother”, the event was attended by South African A-listers, including Nadia Nakai, Londie London, and Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini.
Nadia made a statement in a patent leather Gert-Johan Coetzee number featuring a layered frill skirt, while beauty entrepreneur Mihlali Ndamase looked elegant in a corseted black lace mini dress.
Former Real Housewives of Durban star, Londi London also opted for a figure-hugging black mini dress with diamante bustier detailing. She stepped out for a classy date night with her partner.
Fellow Real Housewives star, Lethabo Lejoy Mathato, looked stunning a beaded creation by SA designer Otsile Sefolo, while celebrity witchdoctor and reality TV star Gogo Maweni wore an iridescent gown and faux fur shrug.
Floyd is continuing his tour of the continent. He was previously in Zimbabwe and is reported to currently be in Durban.
