The 2023 BAFTAs have arrived and with it a plethora of stunning red carpet hair and makeup looks. For the first time in seven years, the prestigious awards were held at the Royal Festival Hall in London and it is as though the stars wanted to christen the new venue with as much glamour and fanfare as their backstage squad could muster.
Celebrities from across the globe flocked to celebrate British cinema's night of glory, which shines a spotlight on the best acting and film talent from the past year. Attendees gracing the red carpet included Jodie Turner-Smith, whose purple feathered gown was complemented by a swoosh of purple eyeshadow and quirky metallic dots on her cheeks that looked as though a few sequins had travelled north from her dress.
Other stars who dazzled included Cynthia Erivo, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley with a very edgy negative space cut crease, and Florence Pugh who debuted a chic new micro fringe. Nicola Coughlan's makeup artist Neil Young, meanwhile picked out the colours of her monochrome dress with blue accents using Lancome's blue-black cream eyeshadow stick Ombre Hypnose Stylo in Bleu Nuit.
And while we don't have to tell you that the bob is having a moment this year, it was the blunt bob that was suddenly everywhere on the red carpet, with celebrities from Viola Davis to Carey Mulligan sporting jaw-grazing styles.
