Just in time for Halloween, Rihanna took to Fenty Beauty’s YouTube channel to give fans a rundown of a look she describes as “goth chic casual.” With her Stunna Lip Paint in Uninvited, a true black shade, as the jumping-off point, Rihanna creates a full look that’s worthy of any October 31st parties. According to Rih, the look is “simple” and “casual” — an analysis that depends on how regularly you wear a black lip. But her tutorial sells us on wanting to make a dark lip a frequent part of a well-balanced beauty routine.
Since Stunna Lip is the star of the show, Rihanna starts her tutorial by painting on two coats of Uninvited. “I’m really excited to show you guys how black this black is,” she explains. “You know I love black lips, but it only works if it’s not sheer.” (Of course, because she’s Rihanna, she manages to talk while applying her lip paint.)
Then she moves on to “warming up” her lids with her Moroccan Spice Eyeshadow Palette in the shade Come and Get It. Next, she uses Fenty Beauty Flyliner to define a “very mild” cat-eye. “I’m just going to do a slight, little cat-eye, starting really, really, really thin in the inner corner and gradually getting slightly, slightly wider,” she explains. “The tip of this brush controls everything, whether you want to go thin, you just create, like, really light tension on the brush. If you want to go thicker, just press into the brush slightly. If you want to go even thicker, you press more, then you let it go.”
She adds definition to her cheeks with Match Stix in Chili Mango and Trippin, and finishes up the look with “a little bit of sparkle,” courtesy of Killawatt highlighter applied to the inner corners of her eyes. “It provides a little bit of drama without doing the most.”
She also challenged fans to recreate the look and tag Fenty Beauty in the results, and naturally, Fenty stans have already gotten started, using the tutorial and Uninvited as a starting point for Halloween looks. We have a feeling that no matter how you use your Fenty, Rihanna would be proud.
