This depends on your skin type and the environment you live in. Generally, skin is naturally more dry in winter, especially in the Highveld where moisture levels drop, leaving skin a dry as a desert. In winter you can opt for a skincare regime that protects and hydrates the skin. Cold and dry air will zap your skin’s natural moisture levels, so look for a hydrating cleanser and a richer moisturiser that will protect your lipid barrier from being breached. In the summer it’s best to ease off heavier creams and go for a light moisturiser that won’t clog pores (and don’t forget the SPF!).
