June 13th marks Albinism Awareness Day. Albinism.org defines albinism as an “inherited genetic condition that reduces the amount of melanin pigment formed in the skin, hair and/or eyes.” It’s a condition that affects many people all over the world. Albinism is still profoundly misunderstood, socially and medically.
But in this day and age, we would hope that everyone would be accepting of people no matter what they look like. Here at GLAMOUR, we like to celebrate things known as “flaws.” Love your flaws because they are what makes you unique!
So today we are celebrating some of the most beautiful people with Albinism on #AlbinismAwarenessDay.
