How to maintain your daily glow

We may know all the self-care steps to take in order to maintain our natural glow but sometimes a little reminder doesn’t hurt.

Glamour caught up with Hayley Richards, professional makeup artist, co-founder of A&H Pro Make-up Services and super mom who shared a few ways she maintains her flawless glow on the daily.

Hydrate

Water intake has a significant impact on our health, and it shows on our skin.

Not drinking enough water leaves you dehydrated, which causes fatigue and lack of energy and eventually leads to blue moods... so DRINK UP! 💦💧🚰 // #moodbooster #somedaysaregoodsomedaysarenot #stayhydrated #waterisgoodforyou #wellness

Sweat it out

‘Now that I've been exercising again, I've been running, the glow is even better. Sweating is good for your skin, a beautiful side effect of something kinda gross right?

‘What's even more awesome is I work out straight after work, wearing Ms London mineral makeup. It’s safe because it's clean makeup that doesn't clog your pores and contains natural sun protection.’

‘It's still important to shower and cleanse shortly after a workout to reduce the amount of impurities that could be re-absorbed by the skin’

Sleep on silk

Hayley shared that people often don't realise what they are doing to their skin while sleeping, especially regarding the condition of their pillowcase.

Satin pillowcases are not only GREAT for hair, it's an easy way to upgrade your nightly SKINCARE routine. 🌙 "𝗦𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 - 𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄!" And of course ... CHANGE your pillowcase - whether it's Satin or Cotton - AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK! It won’t do much good if there is a buildup of skincare products and dead skin cells against your skin all night... ewww but #truestory ! // 𝑷𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝑬𝒈𝒐'𝒔 @egoiwegbu 𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒐𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝑬𝑶 𝒐𝒇 𝑵𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻. #beautytip #beautysleep #skincare #lovetheskinyourein #satinpillowcasesareawesome

Try a cold shower

‘A definite Hayley-tip, which I do religiously in the morning at the end of my shower, is to turn off the warm water and give my body and skin that splash/shock of cold water. I learnt this from my dad and do it despite the weather! The cold water benefits your skin, hair and metabolism resulting in a healthy glow. That's my thing!’

Get some vitamin C in

There’s so much more to it than the immune-boosting properties.
