Love the beach waves that Gigi Hadid debuted on the CFDA red carpet? They’re easier to create than you think! “I love that this look can last you 3 days and still look great,” says celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Yepez for Moroccanoil who styled Gigi’s A-list locks. Here are Jennifer’s tips for creating Gigi’s beachy waves at home:
To get the shine, body and bounce, make sure your hair has been freshly washed. Jennifer’s favourites for creating extra body are the Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo and Moroccanoil Weightless Hydrating Mask.
Then apply a volumising mousse to your entire head from root-to-tip, followed by Moroccanoil Heat Styling Protection from the mid-shaft to the ends.
Next, rough dry her hair in sections from the underneath to the top, only smoothing the ends. If your hair is curly Jennifer recommends that you straighten your hair smooth from the roots to the ends.
Once hair is dry, alternate curling both small and large sections of hair between a small and large barrel curling iron. Switching it up allows the style to look more like real beach waves rather than a curling iron wave. Next, comb through all of the waves using a wide tooth comb.
Then use a pearl-sized amount of styling cream like Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream… but just on the ends.
A final mist of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray in Medium Hold will make sure your waves last through the night.
