Sabrina Carpenter’s hair has taken the world by storm. From viral recreations of her look to a mountain of tutorials on TikTok, racking up millions and millions of views, there's no escaping our favourite blonde's infamous do.
This inspired social media and influencer marketing agency Socially Powerful to partner up with hair specialist Zoey Taylor from CurlsQueen to uncover how to ask your stylist for 'Sabrina Carpenter hair', and how to achieve her blowout at home (and it's not as hard as you think)
Sabrina’s signature sun-kissed blonde look is the perfect mix of Hollywood glam yet undone and effortlessly beachy. The ‘Short n’ Sweet’ singer's go-to hairstyle is a contemporary twist on a hairstyle that Brigitte Bardot once made famous - volumized, bouncy, and all glamorous.
Her locks are typically a warm, golden blonde with honey and caramel undertones. It is soft and full of movement, with texture and shine that just screams "red carpet ready”. But how can you achieve this look?
What to ask your hairstylist?
“I would request long layering to show movement and a soft effect that frames the face. The real trick is to retain some weight in the hair while making sure that its layers blend flawlessly into each other for airiness and bounce. I'd further stress making the ends a little bit feathery rather than blunt to maintain that soft and romantic effect. Opting for the warm blonde with some highlights will give the dimension and radiance that Sabrina is known (and adored) for.”
What about her signature fringe?
“Her fringe is a versatile curtain bang that can be styled in many ways. So, when you're asking your hairdresser for this look, ask for a longer curtain fringe that just skims your eyebrows and blends softly into the rest of your layers. Very importantly, the fringe should suit your face shape, somewhat framing your cheekbones as you part it or just grazing your eyes a little when styled forward. The best thing about curtain bangs is that they grow out well, so it's a great low-maintenance style for anyone trying a fringe for the first time.”
How to style at home?
“Creating her signature bouncy blowout at home takes a little technique but is totally doable. Start with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner to prep the hair, followed by a heat protectant so that the hair does not get damaged. Your best friends are going to be a round brush and a good blow dryer or a styling tool like the Dyson Air Wrap. The trick is to lift the roots as you're drying and roll the brush outward to achieve that airy bounce. Velcro rollers can also be used to set the hair while it cools to lock in the bounce. For that extra bit of hold and texture, finish with lightweight texturizing spray and flexible-hold hairspray to maintain everything in place without weighing it down.”
“The best thing about this hairstyle is it's so versatile because it can support multiple different updos or just be worn beautifully down for a soft, flowing effect. If you have natural curls, you might want to straighten your curtain bangs before styling with a round brush for that sleek look. Regular trims are incredibly required to maintain the shape of layers and bangs, while a weekly deep-conditioning mask will keep your hair healthy and shiny!” Zoey Taylor from CurlsQueen explains.
