The Future Nostalgia singer’s latest update will resonate with anyone who has used their time in quarantine to experiment with their hair colour. Over the last few weeks, Dua has already gone from brunette to blonde, and soft peach to baby pink, but her latest shade is a bold shock of red – easily her most dramatic transformation yet.
Currently isolating with her boyfriend, Anwar Hadid, in London, Dua shared glimpses of her latest look on her Instagram feed. Her simple caption? Just a series of four strawberry emojis. You can see why some fans were pointing out the “Strawberry Shortcake vibes”.

There’s no denying the fresh and fruity allure of Dua’s bold new colour, especially with the additional contrast of her natural dark hair beneath, which gives it a grungy feel. Colouring just part of your hair is a good way to experiment and get creative, without the level of commitment involved in an all-over colour change. Like Dua, build up from sweet pastels to bolder shades. You might not be able to follow the rainbow right now, but you can dye your hair any shade you like.
