Friday Face Off is the weekly makeup challenge at GLAMOUR HQ where beauty editors, beauty enthusiasts and some very special guests recreate a makeup look in only 5 minutes.
This week our amazing Beauty Editor, Lottie Winter goes head-to-head against MUA Cher Webb.
The look this week is makeup artist Danessa Myricks’ amazing paint splatter look. It could go either way with this one, so stay tuned.
Paint splatters have never looked so aesthetic.
Stage One
Both Lottie and Cher start off with a deep purple shimmer eyeshadow beautifully blended out going from highly pigmented on the lid, to a smokey eye on the outer lid.
Stage Two
Going in with the paint splatter, both Lottie and Cher adopt a flicking technique with the brushes and face paints. Lottie dives into the red paint, looking a little too similar to blood splatters, which isn’t quite the look we’re after, but we have hope. Cher starts with the yellow paints, splattering on the cheek bones.
Stage Three
Cher continues to add to the splatters, but quickly moves on to applying the nude lipstick - always a safe bet in this case. Both apply the final paint splatters to finish off the look and it turns out that the paint splatter look isn’t for everyone.
