I am lover of all things that sparkle! I always incorporate a little bit of glitter or shimmer to an my outfit or makeup look. Adding that little touch of shimmer or glitter into your makeup regimen can truly elevate your look without requiring an expensive, flashy outfit. A couple of favourites that I’ve been reaching for the most are the MAC eyeshadow - Woodwinked and Amber Lights – both offer subtle shimmer and gorgeous hues of gold and bronze that suit all skin tones. I love rocking this with a thick black winged liner for that extra DRAMA! For the ultimate JLO body glow, I always reach for the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit and apply it to my collarbones and shoulders.
BLOWN OUT
I’m always keen to try new things when it comes to experimenting with my hair. Just some benefits: the angle-free combination bristles allow the blow brush to smoothly glide through the hair, whilst giving you maximum control – making detangling and styling effortless, and it’s no secret that my hair is thick and can be unruly and difficult to manage at times. I try avoiding blow drying my hair because my arms can’t handle it, and honestly the end product is not giving that in-salon experience. But wow, after trying this blowbrush, which despite how big it looked, was quite kind to my wrist and arm and was really a breeze to use thanks to the ergonomic, lightweight handle. Lately, I’ve been using the Weleda Skin Food Moisturiser, and although I might be late to the hype that it gained years ago, this product has truly been a lifesaver. I love that it keeps my skin moisturised, with active ingredients that penetrate deeply, offering hydration and essential protection to the skin’s barrier. This gem has kept the flakiness at bay while also giving a healthy beautiful glow. I’m lovin’ it!
NOTHING ORDINARY
The Ordinary’s arrival on SA soil was probably one of the most exciting things for the skin care industry in 2023. It’s no secret that the serums are a disruptor in the game and it’s officially become a cult favourite for me. I love the minimal packaging that makes it easily Instagrammable and the single-ingredient products that are surprisingly reasonably affordable have been my go-to, especially during earlier transitional months. I’ve been loving the Squalane cleanser as well as the Niacinamide + Zinc, and the Hyaluronic acid serum. I mean, what’s not to love?
COMFORT WINS
Living up to the standards of their garments being light yet substantial, warm but breathable, and cool but timeless already has me sold. These cute handmade pj’s are artisinally hand-crafted with the environment in mind and each bespoke item is designed in-house to be as comfortable as humanly possible. I love that I can wear them in the house on a relaxed day in, and not feel like I’m wearing sleeping clothes. The fresh designs add just the amount of quirk you need to uplift your spirits.
PERFECTING THE PRIME
