The damning exposé in The New York Times about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual harassment of women opened the flood gates to many more reports of the American film producer’s abuse over a 30-year period. But one of the most interesting pieces of evidence to date comes in the form of a telling red carpet interview answer by actress Courtney Love, dating back to 2005…
What at the time may have been taken as a jokey quip from the famously feisty actress (even her interviewer laughed in response), in retrospect feels dark.
I forgot that Courtney ❤️ told me to stay away from Harvey Weinstein 12 years ago https://t.co/A0150bit0X

In footage from the red carpet of Comedy Central’s roast of Pamela Anderson in 2005, comedian Natasha Leggero caught Courtney Love for an interview on the red carpet.
When asked what advice she would give to young women moving to Hollywood, Courtney’s response was a dark warning.

“I’ll get libelled if I say,” Courtney started.
“If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party at the Four Seasons, don’t go,” she warned.
When the clip resurfaced, Courtney spoke about the consequences of her words.
Although I wasn’t one of his victims, I was eternally banned by CAA for speaking out against #HarveyWeinstein #rape https://t.co/8giwNkrC5t

“Although I wasn’t one of his victims, I was eternally banned by CAA for speaking out against Harvey Weinstein.” Since the scandal came to light, Courtney has commented on the audio recording caught during a New York Police Department sting operation in 2015, where Weinstein pressures model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez to come to his room after groping her breast a day earlier. Courtney wrote “Listening to this is terrifying, can’t even begin to imagine the trauma these women suffered” on Twitter.
