Nomzamo Mbatha killed the red carpet at the 2016 South African Music Awards earlier this month! We asked the GLAMOURzon to give us the lowdown on her dress, hair and makeup.
“I wanted to go for an edgy look. People are used to seeing me in a certain look that’s always quite conservative and safe, so I decided to do something totally unexpected.
I wanted my hair to speak for itself. In terms of makeup, I asked my makeup artist Clara for a smokey eye created with a deep, midnight blue eyeshadow as I thought the colour would contrast well with my pastel dress.
The brief to Orapeleng Modutle for my dress was simple: I wanted to look incredible, chic, different and steer clear of sequins or shiny embellishments! I wanted to go for a clean, sophisticated look to play up the edgy hair and makeup.”
