Model, actress and humanitarian Karrueche Tran was spotted in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, visiting the Hope For Survival Orphanage this past week.
The gorgeous actress of Vietnamese descent descended on Nigeria to host a pool party, made possible by Play Network Nigeria, during Abuja Fashion Week. It was the actress’s first time in the fourth largest city of Nigeria, and she was there for the unveiling of Play Apparel by Maison Mimi.
While at the orphanage, Karrueche formed an immediate bond with one of the toddler orphans, named Comfort. Karrueche shared on her Instagram: “This is 9 month old Comfort who went straight in my arms – she was so cute and lovable ❤️” Aww, so beautiful!
Karrueche shared many pictures that were snapped by famous Nigerian wedding and events photographer, Sir George Okoro. George has an incredible eye and his lense skill is extremely polished. He captured many pictures of Karrueche being embraced by locals and her returning the same love. She played peek-a-boo with some of the kids, and made some very special connections.
She also visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Abuja and shared the most beautiful message on her Instagram: “Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit an IDP camp in Abuja where many of the #bringbackourgirls came to. I remember seeing the #bringbackourgirls movement on social media but seeing it in person was a much different experience. I was able to listen to this mother’s story of her journey from Northern Nigeria.”
She continued, “It was very heartbreaking to hear and to see their living conditions. She said when it rains they have no choice but to stand and there is little to no work for her husband. I told her I admire her for her strength and I will pray for her and her family everyday. This was a very humbling experience for me-I cried at the thought of ever complaining about anything in life. It is unfortunate but I know God will protect them. We can not save the world but we can take small steps to help”. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
