Being an entrepreneur is difficult. Running two brand new companies trying to build a brand from nothing to something is a lot of work. Waking up early, writing emails to nearly everyone I can get a hold of to submit their wine to my competition for one business, while simultaneously scheduling tasting meetings whenever the buyer is available to try my wines for my other business, is a lot of work.
But how can you balance all of that? I’m here to give you my two cents, and I hope it helps with keeping yourself healthy, happy, and ready to take on every day.
Take Wellness Supplements:
My go-to “wellness pill” is called Counter Attack by Rainbow Light. If you have not purchased these yet, they’re my saving grace. I take two a day to promote a healthy immune system. These all-natural pills have turmeric, vitamin C, zinc, yerba santa, polygala and more. These pills stay away from common allergens like soy and peanuts and they’re 100% vegan. Pairing this daily immune system boosting pill with women’s health probiotics keeps my body in check. I use Uquora, a new natural and vegan probiotic which promotes women’s gut and vaginal health. Probiotics help feed on natural and unnatural bacteria in your gut and reproductive tract (for this specific women’s product) to keep it clean and healthy.
A Glass of Wine a Day:
I don’t see the harm in enjoying a glass of wine after work. Wine is what I would consider mental health food. If you eat the right foods during the day, proper carbohydrates, proteins and fats, you can have a glass of wine. Red wine specifically is great for health because of the resveratrol in red grape skins. Resveratol is an antioxidant found in wines that have been macerated over their skins.
In addition to the mental health and stability a glass of wine can provide by soothing your stress, calming your mind, and exciting your palate, red wine has a great amount of amino acid binding antioxidants that help promote a healthy heart and body. And for those who fear sulfur, fear not, red wines actually tend to have less sulfur than white wines. Find a dry red wine, with zero residual sugar, have one glass of about 180ml or less to WINE-down with!
Sleep is Everything:
Another huge proponent to health is sleep. Gals, you can do it tomorrow. Not everything has to be done right before you go to bed. When you’re exhausted, the work you do is not your highest quality. Chances are, you’re going to have to do it all over again. Wait until tomorrow to have a fresh perspective. I make sure to get to bed at a decent hour every day in order to reset my body, brain, and am fresh for the day.
My body is not a temple.
It’s a Ferrari…and I only give it premium gas.
