This year, style and travel content creator Patricia Dolz celebrated her 40th birthday with an unforgettable celebration in Mauritius. Before then, she had received an invitation from Narrative PR to attend the 163rd L'Ormarins King's Plate horse racing event in Cape Town, which took place in January 2024. She was thrilled to accept the invitation, marking her fourth time at this prestigious event. Here she shares her exciting experience at the event and her time in the UK.
Upon arrival, I was ecstatic to be shortlisted for the Best Dressed Woman award, and, to my surprise, I won! The grand prize was nothing short of amazing: a trip for two to the United Kingdom for the Qatar Goodwood Festival, a luxurious Cartier shoulder bag, a delightful Cheetahs in Love scarf from Merchants on Long, an elegant headpiece from Okapi, a FIELDBAR drinks box, and a sparkling bottle of L’Ormarins Brut.
It felt surreal, and my excitement was palpable, as I never expected to win! I had chosen a simple yet elegant dress paired with a headpiece I bought at the last minute. However, I still felt like a million bucks. My confidence radiated, and I believe that truly made an impression on the judges.
Fast forward to August 2024, my husband and I ventured to the UK. We arrived on a Wednesday, with the much-anticipated event scheduled for the following day. The experience was nothing short of amazing as the weather was splendid, champagne was flowing, and the people were incredibly friendly. We formed new friendships and attended an after-party with some of our new acquaintances.

During our trip, we visited the Natural History Museum in London, followed by the Saatchi Gallery. Each experience was unique, and as someone who loves science, history and contemporary art, I thoroughly enjoyed both.
