The Real Housewives of Durban S4 premieres on 9 February, exclusively on Showmax

Showmax has just released the tantalising tease trailer for the fourth season of The Real Housewives of Durban. From Maria Valaskatzis dissolving her lip-fillers and filling them back again to newbie Nqobile “Angel” Ndlela putting people in their place, it's already crystal clear that there is much to look forward to this season, so get ready for some salty lip-service and Durban spice.

The trailer also gives first glimpses of returning cast members Nonku Williams, Sorisha Naidoo, Jojo Robinson, and Slindile Wendy Ndlovu, alongside newcomers Nqobile “Angel” Ndlela and Zamaswazi Ngcobo. It seems that the ‘JOKO’ effect is still intact, soft living will always be the order of the day, and a new gusband has joined. And, of course, this wouldn’t be a true trailer for The Real Housewives without a bit of shade being thrown in every direction.

As the OGs make their first appearance in this new trailer, here’s what they had to say about their return to Season 4.

Nonku Williams

Businesswoman Nonku Williams has been on the show since its inception. The mother of three has become a pop culture icon with legions of fans. Over the years, we have seen her openly go through ups and downs. After Season 3, Nonku is ready to reclaim her “queen bee” position on the show.

"The reason why I chose to come back is because my story is not done,” says Nonku. “I am hoping that, in the new season, I can showcase myself even more while changing the narrative about myself. So far, I think I'm doing a great job.”

Sorisha Naidoo

Sorisha Naidoo ties with Nonku as the longest-serving Housewife in Africa. The wife of Vivian Reddy and the mom of two is also a businesswoman and the anchor of the show. During her time on the show, she has been the consistent calming force in the group.

She has some pearls for the new ladies who are joining the cast. "My message for the ladies is to not get caught up too quickly, and also don't listen to everything at face value,” she says. “Do your own research and choose to hear from the source first. Always listen more, which is something we stopped doing in the previous season."

Jojo Robinson

Jojo Robinson, or as her fans like to call her, Joe, is a mother and wife who loves nothing more than her family and tattoos. She is married to businessman Calven Robinson, a former SA kickboxing champion.

Jojo, who recently renovated her multi-million-Rand home, is in a different space. After Season 3, having lost some of the friendships she held close to her heart, she has had time to reflect. Her goals for the new season are simple: she wants to show a different side of her personality while still being true to herself and her feelings.

On why she returned for Season 4, she shared, “This season, I want people to see a more calm version of myself. I want to work on some of my friendships with the ladies and hopefully move on in a positive direction.”

Maria Valaskatzis

TV presenter, producer, mother and wife Maria Isabella Valaskatzis is ready for her second season on the show. In her first season, she feels like she did not fully show who she was and she is ready for audiences to get to know her on a deeper level.

“In my first season of The Real Housewives of Durban, I was like a fish out of water,” she says. “I had no idea what I was doing but now that I have been through this before, I have a certain level of comfort. Viewers are in for a treat.”

Slindile Wendy Ndlovu

Human resource consultant and spiritual healer Slindile Wendy Ndlovu was at the centre of the biggest feud last season, and the mother of two was not prepared for it. In Season 4, Slee is ready to settle old scores and make sure that she stands up for herself at all times.

“My first season was a learning curve; I was not prepared to experience all the emotions I felt,” she says. “When you join the show, you come in with certain expectations, but being in it is the true test: you never know how you will react until you are in the thick of it. For my second season, I feel more prepared to tackle things head on.”

The Real Housewives of Durban is a reality show that takes an inside look at the lives of the affluent Housewives and professional women in the suburbs of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. The ladies give us an inside look behind the gates of some of South Africa’s most ambitious and wealthy women.

So here's to new friendships, new bodies, new gusbands and to an even more luxurious season of The Real Housewives of Durban.
