The cat’s out of the designer purse. The ever-expanding Real Housewives franchise has made its way to the Mother City shores - and will be on our TV screen REAL soon.
Local network Mzansi Magic first broke the news on their Instagram page.
Earlier this year, we were spoilt with The Real Housewives of Durban and The Real Housewives of Lagos, and now the drama-filled series is continuing its reach in the African continent. This will be the fourth African adaptation for the franchise and its 17th internationally.
Produced by Trace Studios, the cast of The Real Housewives of Cape Town are an ensemble of powerful and affluent women who are beloved, enigmatic and often misunderstood. The newest Housewives – including Beverley Steyn, Rushda Moosajee, Loveline Abinokhauno, Thato Montse, Camilla McDowell, Kutazwa ‘Rooksy’ Gqirana, and Lulwando ‘Lue’ Tukwayo. - are from diverse social backgrounds and represent an eccentric mix of new and old money, connected by one common thread: their desire to run the Mother City.
Meet the cast
Beverley Steyn
Born and bred in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Beverley moved to Cape Town five years ago. A qualified personal trainer and online coach, she is the mother of three boys. She is focused, passionate and incredibly ambitious. She also has a passion for fashion and after a hard days’s work, loves spoiling herself with designer items.
Rushda may be tiny and reserved but she can pack a punch – in more than one way. In her own words: “I’m not one for drama but I will always stand up for what is right.”
