An all-new African drama series is coming to Netflix.
Savage Beauty, produced by Quizzical Pictures and created by Lebogang Mogashoa, draws viewers into a world of fashion, beauty, drama, and revenge.
Starring Isidingo and The Queen actress Rosemary Zimu, the show follows her character, Zinhle Mazini, as a mysterious young woman with a tragic past who seeks revenge on the powerful Bhengu family.
The Bhengu’s own an affluent beauty empire, and 15 years ago, tested a toxic product on a group of street children.
Now, as one of 12 survivors, Zinhle is back with a vengeance, and becomes an unstoppable force exposing family secrets and causing destruction.
The family matriach and patriarch - Grace and Don Bhengu (played by Nthati Moshesh and Dumisani Mbebe) rule their business and household with an iron first. As the series unfolds, the family becomes increasingly ruthless as they’re determined to unmask the enemy who’s trying to sabotage them.
If the plot isn’t jam-packed enough, the show’s talent roster includes a who’s who of South Africa’s most accomplished actors and creatives.
From Terry Pheto, Sarah Langa, Kefilwe Mabote, and Thando Hopa, to name a few, Savage Beauty is a star-studded affair.
Directed by Rea Rangaka, Denny Miller, and Thati Peele, Savage Beauty will launch globally on Netflix on 12 May.
