Mihlali Ndamase’s open letter sparks conversations around Gender Based Violence during Women’s Month

Award-winning beauty content creator and businesswoman Mihlali Ndamase recently took to her YouTube channel to address her 450k+ subscribers about her controversial relationship with businessman and socialite Leeroy Sidambe.

Known for frequently making headlines, Mihlali Ndamase’s latest spotlight stems from an open letter she shared with her audience. The issue came to a head when she posted images of her bruised face on social media with the caption, "Thank you, my love," tagging her then-partner Leeroy Sidambe. Their public relationship has been fraught with controversy, particularly since it emerged that they began dating while Leeroy was still married. Consequently, Mihlali faced backlash and was labelled as a "home wrecker," overshadowing the successful brand she has built.

The situation intensified following her appearance on the popular Showmax series Unfollowed, where many viewers perceived her as arrogant. Since her relationship became public, Mihlali has been involved in disputes with brands and bloggers. The situation became even more complicated after a viral clip showed Leeroy kissing another woman in Dubai, leading to their public breakup. Although controversial blogger Musa Khawula later claimed that the two had reconciled, the exact details of their relationship remained unclear.

Recently, things escalated further when Leeroy confirmed in a public statement that he and Mihlali had a physical altercation. He explained that the conflict arose after Mihlali, who had been trying to contact him repeatedly, showed up at his house to confront him about cheating allegations. Leeroy also mentioned that Mihlali attempted to stab him while she was under the influence of unspecified substances.

In response, Mihlali has used Instagram to counter these claims, suggesting that Leeroy may be a narcissist. Public reaction has been polarized, with many social media users voicing their opinions on 'X' (formerly Twitter). As the situation continues to unfold, the debate over gender-based violence remains a central and contentious issue.
