When did you get into fitness?
Got into fitness in high school. I was training for sports such as rugby and athletics etc.
What pushed you to remain consistent?
I wanted to see myself get better and improve. I got addicted to seeing results and seeing progress. Then I learnt of discipline and consistency being the main ingredient of winners.
How many hours do you usually put in at the gym, do you have a specific routine?
I train for about an hour a day. I do a split. Monday - legs , Tuesday - back and arms , Wednesday - chest and triceps , Thursday - arms, Friday - rest day, Sunday I rest again or do legs and repeat. And I add 10min of cardio at the end of every session and abs in between every different workout on a random.
What is the significance behind “Monk Mode”
Monk Mode is really a period where I focus on me and my goals like a Monk. I cut out alcohol and distractions. I put myself in a very calm state where I’m not seeking for excitement and a dopamine rush form the outside world. So I’m constantly grounded, level headed, allowing me to focus on me and what matters. Also it started out as sober challenge. So the main thing we cut out during the monk mode challenge is alcohol and I’ve now added drinking 3L of water, personal development ,working out and eating clean for the whole 60Days challenge.
As a muscular man what struggles do you face when shopping for clothing items?
Haha none really. I just have to buy XL or XXL sizes and always Taylor the pants.
Are you single? Also how do you deal with female attention considering your popularity on social media?
Yes I am single. I don’t deal with it, I don’t think about it or entertain it. I just stay focused on my goals, those goals keep me busy enough, so I’m blind to the distractions, I don’t let the outside world get to me much.
What is your favourite song to play during a workout?
My favourite song currently is Drake - All The Parties
If you could be a cartoon character what would you be?
I’d be superman or Batman or Johnny Bravo and train his legs haha
What is your favourite book of all times? And why?
Richard Bransons “Screw It , Just do it” it really gave me the courage to just go for my dreams. In the book he speaks about how you must just take the risk and DO IT, stop thinking too much about the variables. Just do the damn thing.
What advice would you give someone who wants to start working out but don’t know where to start?
Look for a good coach or personal trainer and get on a program, also you can watch YouTube exercises and Google how to begin your fitness journey. But always best to go to someone you look up to.
