Benjamin Bocio Richardson runs a Charity
Small doesn’t mean it’s not impactful. Benjamin Bocio-Richardson is one of the world’s most powerful young health advocates. His charity work began in the Dominican Republic after the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.
In 2010, Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie who served as a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and UNICEF visited Haiti Earthquake Survivors at the pediatric ward of Dr. Dario Contreras Trauma Hospital in Santo Domingo. Jolie also met with the former Dominican Republic’s President Leonel Fernández during a visit to the national palace in the island nation’s capital city. Benjamin and his father founded “Bocio Medical Foundation (FUMEBO)” in partnership with Dr. Dario Contreras Trauma Hospital and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
As he got older, Benjamin went on to take more serious and adult roles, today he is an international voice for health equity and human rights.
