In the spirit of optimism and giving that marks the summer season in South Africa, Veuve Clicquot’s ICONS Collection encapsulates the essence of sun-drenched days and festive celebrations. Comprising four inimitable objects of desire—each a design icon in its own right—this exclusive and personalisable gifting collection is available at Africa’s first Veuve Clicquot ICONS pop-up boutique this December.
The pop-up boutique finds its home at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, Africa’s most visited destination, kicking off the season in signature solaire style. Reflecting the House’s reputation as a pioneer of design and innovation, the elevated retail space embodies the rising sun and offers a memorable experience for gift givers and collectors alike. And because nothing is more joyful than a bespoke present, a personalisation service takes select ICONS to a new level.
The ICONS Collection exemplifies Veuve Clicquot’s ‘solaire culture’, enhancing the art of living through a focus on exceptional design and innovation, combining aesthetics and functionality. It’s a culture forged by Madame Clicquot—‘la grande dame de la Champagne’—who revolutionised the world of champagne by inventing the first vintage in 1810, the first riddling table in 1816, and the first known blended rosé champagne in history, in 1818. This heritage has been preserved by the House for 250 years and continues to pioneer design excellence into the future with the ICONS – a collection of emblematic objects, reimagined with sustainability in mind.
Clicquot Arrow
The new limited-edition ‘follow your sun’ Clicquot Arrow is dressed in vibrant colours and invites you to discover the world’s most beautiful sunsets. Sunnier than ever with an eco-design made from tin, the iconic Clicquot Arrow is entirely sustainable and recyclable. For the love of champagne, not only does it reveal the distance to the House of Veuve Clicquot in Reims, France, but it can also be personalised with the name of your favourite destination. Whether your Clicquot Arrow points to Cape Town, Johannesburg, New York, London, or Paris, it’s all about following your sun.
Clicquot Ice Jacket
A fashion-forward gift, the Clicquot Ice Jacket was co-designed with the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. With its high-tech, eco-designed fabric case, it keeps champagne chilled for up to 60 minutes, over multiple uses. By adding your choice of limited-edition summer patches to the Ice Jacket, this collectible piece is elevated to a statement of individual style.
Clicquot Ice Box
Notable as one of 100 iconic objects representing the pinnacle of French design, enter the Clicquot Ice Box. It incorporates the Japanese paper-folding technique of origami to transform, like a flower in bloom, into a functional ice bucket and work of art – reusable up to 10 times and recyclable.
Clicquot Fridge x Smeg
The Clicquot Fridge is an audaciously cool chill box designed in collaboration with Smeg. Inspired by classic 1950s refrigerators this collector's box will keep a bottle at the optimal temperature for up to two hours, starting with the Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label encased within.
Veuve Clicquot Smeg Refrigerator
On a more generous scale, the Veuve Clicquot Smeg Refrigerator is the ultimate gift for hosts with the most, combining Smeg’s inimitable retro lines with the House’s dazzling solaire yellow. Complete with 36 bottles of Yellow Label, it’s another joyful element and a welcome addition to any home in a sunny season of endless celebration.
The Veuve Clicquot pop-up store will be open for three weeks of summer inspiration from 1 – 23 December 2023. Location: V&A Waterfront (outside Louis Vuitton), Cape Town, South Africa.
