Her heart for seeing women empowered has seen her collaborate with Woolworths’ Power of Us Campaign which is a cause that echoes her purpose.
As an entrepreneur, she founded Thalki Chai, after a pilgrimage to India in 2019. She initially started selling chai at markets, and her business has now evolved into the events industry. Recently, she made a significant stride by producing ‘my first instant chai,’ staying true to the authentic recipe without any artificial ingredients. Naliyani is now expanding her venture to stores, taking my passion for chai to a broader audience.

Naliyani: My approach to social impact involves living with purpose, authenticity, and mindfulness. I'm unafraid to use my voice to address issues that impact those around me and to be a mirror reflecting the concerns of my community.
Glamour: What is your mantra in life?
Naliyani: "It always seems impossible until it's done." This powerful statement reminds me to persevere and stay determined, even in the face of life's challenges. It serves as a constant source of motivation, urging me to push beyond my limits, overcome obstacles, and achieve my goals. With unwavering dedication and hard work, I can turn the seemingly impossible into reality.
Glamour: What is your most coveted role?
Naliyani: My most coveted role would undoubtedly be that of the villain, regardless of the storyline. Playing the antagonist allows me to explore the depths of complex characters, embracing their darkness and intricacies. I find it incredibly enticing to delve into the psyche of a villain, understanding their motivations and bringing their multifaceted personalities to life on the screen or stage.
Glamour: What are your plans for Women's Day?
Naliyani: On Women's Day, I'll be taking a break from juggling my roles as a business owner, model, and actress. I'll dedicate the day to spending quality time with the strongest woman I know – my mom.

Naliyani: Being a woman occupying space in 2023 holds immense pride for me. As a South Indian South African, I am thrilled to be making my mark in the realms of entertainment, lifestyle, and fashion industries, leaving a distinctive footprint that embodies both my heritage and aspirations.

Naliyani: Currently, Kefilwe Mabote is on my radar for her impeccable sense of fashion; she consistently nails it. Additionally, Thuso Mbedu has caught my attention for her remarkable contributions to both the acting and beauty industries.
Glamour: Why is it important for women to be celebrated?
Naliyani: Celebrating women is crucial as South Africans, as it allows us to recognise the ongoing challenges like gender-based violence, gender inequality, unequal pay, and educational disparities for girls in our nation. Through celebration, we shed light on these issues, fostering awareness and advocating for gender equality and a sense of sisterhood among women.
Glamour: If you had the opportunity to sit down with any of the women who marched to the Union Buildings in 1956, what would you say?
Naliyani: I would express my heartfelt gratitude, acknowledging that their immense bravery and determination have paved the way for women in South Africa to attain positions of power and influence that would have otherwise been unattainable. Their legacy continues to inspire and empower generations of women to strive for equality and progress.
