Winter is the perfect season to add to your weekend watch list.

I don’t know about you, but for us, the entertainment area has become an important part of our homes. Having separate areas for working, sharing meals and leisure activities helps us find work/life balance and helps us feel less cooped up as we wait out the Covid pandemic.

Brand manager of high-tech corporation SKYWORTH, Jaco Joubert, has shared his list of binge-worthy tv shows to enjoy on your small screen in the comfort of your home. Take your pick below.

The Flight Attendant

Part thriller and part black comedy, the dramedy follows Cassie Bowden (Kaley Cuoco), the flight attendant, as she makes countless terrible decisions. First, she goes out with a handsome businessman from her flight, then she flees that man’s hotel bedroom following his murder. The Flight Attendant unfolds as Cassie desperately tries to figure out what happened.

Friends

With M-Net having just announced the much-anticipated Friends Reunion will be aired on Sunday 30 May, as well as available on SHOWMAX from the following day (queue all our 90s and early 2000s fantasies come to life) there’s no better time than now to watch reruns of this favourite classic right from episode one on Netflix.

Formula 1 Drive to Survive

A gripping documentary series giving a behind-the-scenes look at the drivers and races of the Formula One World Championship.

The Bold Type

The Bold Type follows the day-to-day adventures of three millennial New Yorkers and best friends who work together at the fictional fashion magazine Scarlet. The show dives right in and still finds ways to make this well-documented world newly exciting.

The Underground Railroad

A magical reimagining of the stories of enslaved people who fled the Antebellum South, and a journey across space and time.

Mare of Easttown

Kate Winslet is Mare Sheehan, a detective in small-town Pennsylvania on the tail of a murderer, whose own life starts falling to pieces around her.

Halston

A deep dive into the grand, extravagant life that the eponymous fashion designer led. It captures the essence of Studio 54 days and an era of fashion superstardom that serves as much as a cautionary tale as it does a life-to-screen narrative. Starring Ewan McGregor.

Young Rock

Follow Dwayne Johnson's childhood into young adulthood as we learn how Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson became one of the most well-known celebrities in the world today. The series uses three different eras of Dwayne's life to tell its story, and Dwayne himself narrates the show.

Nine Perfect Strangers

The producers behind Big Little Lies and The Undoing have adapted Liane Moriarty's book for the silver screen. Nicole Kidman, Regina Hall, Melissa McCarthy, Samara Weaving, Michael Shannon and other big names are the strangers who may prove to be less than perfect.
