It takes more than a pretty IG post.
The sun is shining, the world is opening up, and if we weren't in a big happy mood already, Pride Month is giving us even more cause to celebrate. In its 51st year, Pride continues to stand as a symbol for activism and joy—and with the tradition of brands giving back, right now is a great time to show up and support the LGBTQ+ community with your coin.
The LGBTQ+ community has made major strides for inclusivity in industries like entertainment, fashion, and beauty, but a lot of work still needs to be done for true representation and solidarity, especially for the Black LGBTQ+ community. We all know a pretty post on Instagram won't cut it: This moment calls for explicit commitments, and consumers want to see the receipts. So, in honor of Pride Month, we're taking a look at all the brands offering genuine support with pledges that have real dollar amounts attached.
From Ugg to Ouai to Parade, these nine brands are not only moving the needle for LGBTQ+ representation but also showing that the days of performative allyship are over. Check them out below, and if you can swing it, use your money to make a positive impact—whether that's donating directly to nonprofits, shopping at LGBTQ-owned businesses, or putting your dollars toward brands giving back.
Beekman 1802
As a proudly gay-owned business, celebrating and supporting members of the LGTBQ+ community has always been at the core of Beekman 1802. But June is extra special for the brand's cofounders, Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell, as it's also their wedding anniversary. To honor this moment, the brand rolled out an exclusive Bloom with Pride Skincare Kit, with 100% of the profits from the skin-care kits going toward the Ali Forney Center, the nation’s largest nonprofit organization aiding homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
Ouai
Celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin is giving her scalp and body scrub a tropical update with notes of dragonfruit, tuberose, and orange blossom. Everything about it feels and smells like a vacation, so it's the perfect beauty product to add to your summer lineup. Best part? The brand will be donating $20,000 to the Los Angeles LGBT Center, a nonprofit organization providing housing and essential health and social services to the LGBTQ+ community in Los Angeles.
Parade
Parade, the inclusive intimates company on a mission to make underwear fun again, believes every day is a good day to uplift members of the LGBTQ+ community. That's why ahead of Pride Month, the happy-go-lucky brand has released Color Outside the Lines, an “unofficial” themed collection of brightly hued undies and bralettes that celebrates the community's expressiveness. The brand will be donating 2,000 pairs of underwear to various LGBTQ+ organizations.
Ugg
No at-home look is complete without a pair of cozy slippers, and Ugg's fluffy sandals serve up peak cozy vibes. If you're in need of a new pair, check out its Fluff Yeah sandals or the new Fluff You Slide in Pride-inspired color schemes. In tandem with the launch, the brand unveiled its #UggPride campaign and pledged to donate $125,000 from its collection to GLAAD, a nonprofit organization that works to ensure inclusivity in media.
Reebok
In addition to donating $75,000 to the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, a legal aid organization “that serves low-income or people of color who are transgender, intersex and/or gender-nonconforming,” the legacy sneaker brand teamed up with House of Ninja to spotlight its legendary ballroom history via a special campaign titled Fierceness Isn’t Born. It’s Made. Read more on the House's founding father, Archie Burnett, and then shop the collection here.
Dr. Martens
The celeb-approved combat boot brand has created a special-edition version of its iconic 1461 Oxford Loafer for Pride Month. It's still classic and subtle in black, but comes with rainbow stitching on the back-heel loop, matching laces, and an embroidered rainbow flag on the side. The brand is also donating $100,000 to The Trevor Project.
Teva
The brand that set out to make “ugly” sandals cool again is releasing a Pride Pack this year, featuring a mix of unisex sandals and accessories. Teva will also make a $35,000 donation to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation in support of the LGBTQ+ community.
Tangle Teezer
A hairbrush is no doubt a makeup bag essential—and if you're traveling soon, why not get yourself a new one from Tangle Teezer? The beauty brand, known for its pocket-sized options, is launching a Pride version of its compact styler, along with a $50,000 donation going to the Stonewall Foundation in support of its various LGBTQ+ initiatives. The limited-edition design will be available exclusively at Ulta.
