Durban was abuzz with excitement as the Glamour Book Club hosted its Women’s Month Edition in a dazzling celebration of empowerment and financial literacy.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Marbella Grand Cafe at The Pearls, the event was a resounding success, marking a memorable first anniversary for the Glamour Book Club. Curated around financial wellness, in collaboration with Momentum and their inspiring #SheOwnsHerSuccess campaign, the event showcased the remarkable potential of women to excel in all facets of life.
Hosted by Thobeka Phanyeko, Glamour’s Features Editor and founder of this empowering initiative, the day was a vibrant celebration of women empowerment for Women’s Month.
The distinguished panelists, including Head of Momentum Brand Marketing, Qhawekazi Mdikane, Attorney and Member of The Pencil Club, Joanne Philip, Founder&CEO of Soul Networks and International Speaker, Thobile Tops Mkhwanazi, Businesswoman and Reality TV Star, Lenore Gross-Maatjie, Founder of Drink NIL, Ayanda Mvandaba and Head of Private Banking at FNB, Yashika Rambujan, captivated guests with their insightful contributions.
Money Coach and Author of What’s Your Personality? Vangile Makwakwa also unpacked insights from her book and offered her perspective on financial empowerment.
Adding a touch of glamour to the event, MAC Cosmetics was on hand with a makeup touch-up station, ensuring guests were camera-ready.. The iconic beauty brand also hosted a chic beauty masterclass led by Mokgadi Shogole.
Guests embraced the ethereal theme of the venue in their all-white outfits with pops of blue, mingling with stylish, like-minded women who share a passion for literature, wellness, and self-care. The brunch-style affair featured bubbly, wine, courtesy of HER Wine and Cape Velvet as well as brilliant insights, and a vibrant atmosphere that fostered invaluable connections. From the scrumptious meal, exclusive goodie bags to the enlightening discussions, the event was a true celebration of women’s success and empowerment.
