Meet Bobby Van Jaarsveld, Royco Cook-Off Contestant

Bobby Van Jaarsveld

How pleasing is the imagination of a handsome singer breaking a sweat in the kitchen? Well you don’t have to wonder any longer because Royco has taken the liberty to indulge our imagination. As a family man, Bobby is no stranger in the kitchen, and he understands just how important making quick delicious meals is for his loved ones. He was first introduced to Royco by his wife and later felt brave enough to venture into the kitchen on his own.

Popular Afrikaans singer and actor (and handsome guy) Bobby van Jaarsveld will be one of the contestants battling out for the ultimate prize of being the Royco Cook-Off champion in a virtual cooking competition with popular chef, Luyanda Mafanya. He hopes to put to play his amateurish cooking skills with Royco, while also vying for the Royco Cook-Off title. This Afrikaans pop sensation undeniably loves Royco Sauces through his experiences at home, and on the day of the Cook-Off he promises to use some tricks that his wife taught him, so watch out Luyanda!

What other better way to bring people together than a common love of food? Royco will be introducing fun, time saving meal ideas through Chef Luyanda and Bobby, by bringing two worlds together to battle it out in their respective kitchens to be crowned the ultimate Royco Cook-Off champion and everyone is invited to join in on the fun.

Viewers are encouraged to get behind their favourite contestant and who will win the ultimate bragging rights of being the winner in the cook-off battle.

The singer / songwriter has chosen to make a secret pasta dish inspired by Royco and will only reveal it to us on the day of the cook-off battle, so it is best for us to tune in to find out.

Bobby shouldn’t be underestimated going against Luyanda who may appear to have an upper hand on him by virtue of her being a chef. We predict that he may prove to indeed be multitalented and will surprise us by getting creative with his chosen Royco Pasta dish. ”We have also embarked on this campaign to showcase that cooking can save our consumers time to enjoy the things that they like doing.” Nivashnee Moodley, Senior Brand Manager Food, Royco.

The virtual cook-off will take place on 23rd July 2020 at 7pm CAT on the official @Royco.sa Instagram page. Find all Royco’s Cook-Off updates on both Bobby and Luyanda’s Instagram pages and follow @Royco.sa for more time saving meals.

May the best contestant win!
