DJ Zinhle takes over the timeless world of excellence with Rémy Martin in Cognac, France

DJ Zinhle recently displayed why she is the epitome of excellence when she embarked on an unforgettable journey to the House of Rémy Martin in Cognac, France. This exclusive experience provided a deep dive into the brand’s illustrious heritage and luxurious craftsmanship, offering a rare and immersive exploration.

Her adventure began amidst the Grande Champagne vineyards, renowned for their chalky, white limestone soils, which offer an unparalleled capacity to retain moisture and reflect sunlight. Significantly, Rémy Martin is only made from grapes that originate from the Grande and Petite Champagne terroirs, making it the only major cognac House that can claim to be Cognac Fine Champagne*. This unique area, combined with its hilly terrain, allows the grapes to develop slowly, ensuring the creation of eaux-de-vie with exceptional aging potential and aromatic complexity.

DJ Zinhle was captivated by the symbiosis between nature and craftsmanship as she walked through the vineyards, experiencing first-hand how the land itself shapes the elegance and refinement that define Rémy Martin cognacs. She gained a deep appreciation for how this unique combination of the two most central terroirs of the Cognac region is integral to the brand’s signature smoothness, complexity, and long finish.

With the House of Rémy Martin celebrating 300 years of exceptional cognac and friend of the brand, DJ Zinhle, celebrating two decades in the industry, it was only fitting that this illustrious partnership was honoured with an experience curated at the highest level boasting different touchpoints befitting of the iconic brand.

“This trip with Rémy Martin came right at the perfect time; we have been in partnership for two years and this year we are both celebrating major milestones on our journey,” says DJ Zinhle. “The visit to the historic aging cellars was such a transformative experience where we learned about the delicate balance between time, environment, and the expertise of the cellar masters, which allows the eaux-de-vie to mature into Rémy Martin’s complex cognacs.” added the famous DJ.

Witnessing the perpetual reserve system in action, which is at the heart of the 300th Anniversary Coupe, a very special and exceptional blend created by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau, where portions of previous blends are preserved for future creations, deeply impressed and inspired her too.

This insight into the maturation process illuminated the brand's artistry and commitment to continuity, enriching her understanding of how each cognac is a living legacy, passed from one generation to the next.

From her perspective, the experience was a vivid narrative of how the House has continued to innovate while remaining rooted in tradition, ensuring that the next generation of connoisseurs can continue to dream forward.

This cultural immersion helped me see how the House’s history is intertwined with the very fabric of cognac, which in many ways has deepened my connection with the brand,” says Zinhle.

Finally, DJ Zinhle was also introduced to the “Les Martins” lounge, which offered breath-taking panoramic views of the vine-covered valleys, creating a sophisticated setting for an elegant tasting experience.
