When it comes to brainstorming groundbreaking ideas that inspire, finding the perfect setting is key. You need a space that sparks creativity, provides delicious food to fuel the mind, and, of course, offers a touch of luxury — like bubbles to set the mood. And that’s exactly what the Glamour team found when we gathered for our planning meeting at Ocean Basket on Kloof.
We were elated when Ocean Basket extended an invitation to host our brainstorming session at their stunning Kloof location. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with glasses of bubbles — the perfect way to start a day of creative discussions. The ambiance of the restaurant, with its relaxed yet chic setting, set the tone for what would become an inspiring and productive meeting.
Once we settled in, we were presented with an extensive menu that featured a tantalizing range of starters, mains, and desserts. Ocean Basket truly understands the importance of having a variety of options that satisfy all tastes and preferences. To ensure a comprehensive experience, we ordered a wide selection of dishes, from fresh salads to hearty platters, each one more delicious than the last.
The Famous Village Salad, with its crisp tomatoes, cucumber, and feta, was the perfect light option to kick off our meal. For something a bit more indulgent, we dove into a few of their signature platters, such as the Solemate Platter and Seafood Feast, which featured an assortment of grilled prawns, calamari, mussels, and fish, all paired with the freshest ingredients.
Led by our Editor-in-Chief, Nontando Mposo, we discussed ideas for our upcoming Mind/Body issue, brainstorming ways to inspire and empower women, all while enjoying the best seafood in town. Our Fashion Director Tania talked us through her vision for her vertical as well her approach to styling our trailblazing cover stars. Seeing as there was a huge focus on wellness, our Features Editor, Thobeka Phanyeko invited the team members to let her in on their approach to wellness so she could wrap my head around how different people perceive it. Glamour’s Digital Content Producer, Sindeka Mandoyi shared the roll out plan leading up to the issue drop.
As the brainstorming session unfolded, the food and bubbles created the perfect atmosphere for creative energy to flow freely. The team’s meeting at Ocean Basket was not just about work; it was about building connections, fueling creativity, and enjoying great food in a vibrant, welcoming environment. We left feeling not only inspired but also grateful for such an incredible space to collaborate in.
