You can’t talk South African, African and global excellence without mentioning Social Justice Chair, Advocate, Former South African Public Protector and 2014 Time Magazine 100 Most Influential award winner Professor Thuli Madonsela. She is a real-life Wonder Woman.
We recently caught up with Professor Madonsela soon after her keynote speech at the Fundi Education Forum. We chatted democracy, freedom, Madonsela’s move to Stellenbosch, lessons she has learned and she also let us in on what really matters to her.
We asked her what three life lesson she has to offer us and this is what she had to say:
You don’t have to wait for someone
to create the future you want. Go out there and create it for yourself.
Don’t judge any book by its cover
, collaboration can come from people you least expect. Be open-minded to people no matter their age, race or gender.
Things look harder than
they seem before you start, the middle does get messy, but if you stay on, things eventual workout.
