Does the idea of a 7-day, relay-style run from Joburg to Cape Town – that’s a whopping 1 520km – sound a little crazy to you? Us too! Which is why we’re super proud to announce that one of our GLAMOUR team members, Sarah Tuft will be taking on this challenge for charity from the 7th – 14th April 2017.
Founded by Dayle and Shaun Raaff, MAD2Run is an annual fundraising event in support of the MAD Leadership Foundation, an organisation which offers scholarships to exceptionally bright young leaders. The first run took place in 2014 and raised R250 000 for MAD. To date, MAD2Run has raised just over R1 000 000 for the MAD Leadership Foundation!
In 2017, Sarah and her teammates, Adrian Kritzinger and Chris Morris will form part of a team of 12 runners from Cape Town, which will run alongside a Joburg-based team of 12 runners. There are many opportunities for South Africans across the country to get involved by attending an annual comedy evening or participating in runner challenges (like getting one of the MAD runners to run a few kilometres in a lumo, Borat-inspired mankini!).
We’ll be following Sarah’s journey during the run, but in the meantime keep an eye on our events calendar for updates. To learn more about the initiative, the other amazing runners or get involved in the training and fundraising events, visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
