Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has passed away at the age of 96. The news broke yesterday via an official statement from Buckingham Palace.
Elizabeth Windsor is the longest reigning monarch in British history. She was crowned Queen in 1952 at the age of 25 and served for the next 70 years.
She died peacefully at Balmoral Castle on Thursday 8 September 2022 after battling with severe health complications for several months. She also contracted Covid-19 in February 2022.
News of her death has shocked the world, with tributes, homages, and statements pouring in from the world leaders, politicians, celebrities and the general public on social media.
