The 2020 Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles on Sunday night, and while it was a night of mourning for many in the audience, it was also an occasion to celebrate the energy and joy of the musical community. Below, all the night's best performances.

Lizzo

The night arguably belonged to Lizzo, who opened the awards ceremony with a medley of her hits that she touchingly dedicated to Kobe Bryant. Her performance brimmed with passion and energy and was choreographed to perfection.

Tyler the Creator, Charlie Wilson, and Boyz II Men

When we say Tyler the Creator's performance was fire, we mean literally. Flames licked the side of the Grammys stage as he performed, and he matched that level of chaotic-good energy with his delivery.

Usher, FKA Twigs, and Sheila E

How could we not love a Prince tribute? Especially when Usher delivered his medley of the late singer's greatest hits in a very Prince-style look: sparkling jacket, skintight pants, and a cross pendant. (Let's not overlook how incredible FKA Twigs' dancing was, either.)

Ariana Grande

After skipping last year's Grammys, Ariana Grande was back and better than ever in custom Giambattista Valli as she performed hits including "7 Rings" and "Thank U, Next."

Lil Nas X, BTS, Nas, Diplo, Mason Ramsey, and Billy Ray Cyrus

It was a group affair onstage when Lil Nas X got up to perform "Old Town Road," and thank goodness for that; his collaboration with BTS, Nas, Diplo, Mason Ramsey, and Billy Ray Cyrus was one of the most fun moments of the night.

RosalĂa

RosalĂa was one of the breakout artists of the last year, and she showed just why at the Grammys, winning the award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album and performing "Juro Que" and "Malamente."

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish took home four Grammys on Sunday night and her performance of "When the Party's Over" was pitch-perfect. (Her dedication of the award to "all the kids who are making music in their bedrooms today" was pretty great too.)

Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men

The night wouldn't have felt complete without a musical tribute to Kobe Bryant, and that's exactly what host Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men's Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman delivered, launching into an emotional rendition of "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday."
