The moon might have been blocking the sun during the solar eclipse yesterday (August 21), but Taylor Swift is back to being the star she is.
Leading up to Monday’s eclipse, Taylor fans were theorising that she’d be dropping new music because of a blackout that occurred throughout her social media platforms and that her new album would fittingly be called Eclipse. Then around 11:00 A.M. EST, a cryptic video of a snake appeared on all her accounts. And on top of all this, music video director Joseph Kahn (the man behind TSwift’s “Bad Blood” music video), mysteriously tweeted, “In 30 minutes, as a show of power, @taylorswift13 will blot out the sun … Guys please don’t look at the eclipse directly because of this tweet. Thanks” — obviously leading to a flurry of speculation.
And while the eclipse came and went sans new music, Us Weekly reports that Taylor will allegedly release the first single from her highly-anticipated sixth album this Friday, according to multiple sources. That said, it should go without saying that we won’t know anything for sure until Taylor herself says something — or, you know, the song drops. But, hey, guess this means you have plenty of time to brush up on your TS6 theories, right?
