Nene Leakes
Whether you are a fan of the Real Housewives reality show franchise or not, at one point or the other you have heard of its star Nene Leakes. It may be through using her memes or gifs on social media, watching her act on shows like The New Normal, Glee or you may have followed her journey as one of the original cast members of Real Housewives of Atlanta when it premiered in 2008. Nene has been there since day one and except for Season 9 when she left, she has always been of the shows fan favorites.
On Thursday 11 June, GLAMOUR managed to secure an exclusive chat with the star on Instagram Live, and it was a chat many people tuned in to watch.
In the interview Nene spoke to GLAMOUR Online Editor Molife Kumona about everything from Black Lives Matter, RHOA, being a mother, a businesswoman, and more.
During the beginning of the interview, Nene and Molife spoke about the Black Lives Matter movement and Nene revealed how she found out about the George Floyd video that started the recent marches and protests.
"Someone sent me the video and I couldn't sleep when I saw it. I was blown away. I was tossing and turning that night," Nene said.
Nene went on to explain that after seeing the video she and her husband Greg had to sit down with their sons to talk about what happened and what they should do if they are ever in that situation.
"What's said is that we as black parents have to tell our kids to do all these things in 2020. Other races just tell their kids to be polite and make sure they have their licenses. We tell our kids to make sure they record the encounter and be on Facebook or Instagram Live. It's not fair," Nene added.
During the interview, Nene also spoke about being a loner and how people are surprised to know that.
'A lot of people get surprised when they hear that I am a loner. I am. I like doing things by myself. And if you see me alone, it probably means I want to be alone, " she said.
Molife asked Nene if she had the chance to send any cast member, who it would be, see that answer and more in the full interview below;
