Salma Hayek’s marriage is her “biggest accomplishment”.
The Everly star tied the knot with businessman François-Henri Pinault in 2009 and is thrilled her marriage is “full of love”.
She said: “A good marriage, full of love, is my biggest accomplishment. Home is where my husband is. He is home. Everything outside of the family nucleus is an adventure that you’re living together [as a couple].”
And the 49-year-old actress – who has eight-year-old daughter Valentina with François-Henri – criticised parents for keeping their children entertained with screens.
She told the July issue of Red magazine: “You have to drag children into participating in life. It takes a lot of work and mummies are very tired because most of us work and life is exhausting, especially if you are an older mum like me, but you have to make the effort.
“Now it’s so easy to just entertain them [with a screen], and you don’t have to go through the complaining for an hour about dragging them places. Drag them, and make them a part of your life. It’s about the human connection, and the things they can learn from participating in life. Otherwise, isolation starts to happen.”
Meanwhile, Salma previously spoke of the importance of encouraging girls to feel “unique.”
She said: “I think the most important thing to tell for the new generations is to have the courage to be unique, to be curious about who they are, instead of trying to blend in.
“The most important thing to say to the girls is to not try to be like the other girls. Not to try to fit in, but to try to really be profound thinkers that are excited about their differences and explore what they are and who they are and what can come out of the new.”
