Tributes are pouring in for the late actor Mutodi Neshehe, who has been described as an “incredible father”, brother and friend.
The star, known for his roles on Muvhango, Jacob's Cross, Egoli and Generations: The Legacy died on Thursday.
The details around the veteran actor’s death have not yet been revealed.
“It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mutodi Neshehe on July 1, 2021. He was our brother, uncle, father, mentor, role model and actor. He will be sorely missed by his family and close friends,” said a family statement.
The news of Mutodi's death come soon after reports on Thursday indicated that legendary musician Steve Kekana died.
The 63-year-old musician who has worked with the likes Ray Phiri, Nana Coyote and Joe Nina died after being rushed to hospital on Thursday morning due to covid-19 related problems.
Steve’s manager Xolani Majozi, confirmed to local news sites that the musician had tested positive for Covid-19.
The award-winning musician recorded more than 40 albums during his career and was a Tshwane University of Technology alumnus with B Juris and LLB degrees.
Tributes for both Mutodi and Kekana continued to pour in on Friday as South Africans mourned their passing.
