To honour the life and legacy of the late and great Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, the African National Congress put out a call to action for all women to dress in all black and wear a doek or beret. The apartheid stalwart was known for her signature head wrap and was often seen in black. Leading up to her memorial and funeral next week, the ANC published the following post on their social media:
Today, many South African celebrities heeded the call by sporting their finest all-black ensembles, complete with colourful and intricately wrapped doeks.
